This has come to my attention on my search to find a job. One must think that in the current economic position there will not be many jobs available. But the real situation is completely different, from research I have conducted it seems that yes times are bad to find or switch accounting jobs but there is surely an improvement from the previous two years.
However, statistics show that on average a job post receives 120 CVs of which 10 candidates are given the opportunity to prove themselves in an interview. These large amount of responses has left the recruitment service a slow and long process. Many departments having to sift through CVs has doubled the chances of being short-listed.
I agree. I too am looking for a job in finance, there is a wealth of opportunity out there and the biggest challenge is tapping it. Good luck in your job hunt, and keep me posted!
Thanks for your reply! With a new updated CV and targeted cover letters i believe those all important interviews should be coming my way. I hope!
